  3. I've found some nice, gently used, furniture on craigslist.  You can also try consignment shops.  Bob's stores are less expensive than other furniture stores (at least in NH & MA)

  4. you can sign up through yahoo for your local free cycle.  i am on my local free cyle and get emails everyday from people who post items they need to get rid of...i happen to see furniture on there all the time.  you can also put a post up for thing you are in need of, and if someone sees your need and has something for you, they'll email you back and let you know.

just do a search for a free cycle in your county or city.  good luck!

  5. Craig's List is a good alternative, but if you are looking to purchase something newer, or even brand new, try this website.

  17. Don't overlook thrift stores and the Salvation Army thrift stores.  Perfectly fantastic stuff gets donated constantly.  I know...because I'm one of those people that donates excess stuff to goodwill after I decide I want something new or different.  There are some really cool finds there!
