  1. lol, railroads are not punctual.  Basically, you get it when you get it.

  2. Try the company website - you might find the information there but they are probably all pretty bad!

  3. The individual train operators publish four weekly figures on their Websites or you can go to www.rail.govt.uk and they publish quarterly figures

    hope this helps

  4. Stand for hours on end at any station between Liverpool and Manchester freezing your nodules off.

  5. Fairground,

look fo the fortune teller with the crystal ball, she has timetables in her handbag.

  6. I don't know where in the world you are - but if it is the UK all train operating companies have to publish reliability statistics - % of trains on time, and then those running  at various degrees of lateness. I've tried to find, without success, a site listing these statistics in a simple way, but with no luck. That I do quote seems about the best there is.

Later - they are more reliable than airlines - no reports of people stranded at Waterloo International freezing their socks off because all trains have been cancelled due to fog.

  7. There is no such thing as a reliable train company..........they will all BS their info to make themselves look good.........but all are as bad as one another. It may be cheaper to fly if it is a long journey! I recently went from Bournemouth to Newcastle by plane (return) for £50............train fare quoted £95...........you decide!!

  8. look up two indepenednt sites:

www.rail-reg.gov.uk and follow links to ORR ( office or Railregulations ). They have a uarterly bulletin that monitors PPM ( public performance measure) with the delays of trains in the network railThe central Informaion offic also has statistics on this subject. Good hunting!
