Plant bulrushes in standing stagnant water in in 3 years you will have clean drinkable water if no other major pollutants are added in the meantime.  Manyof the answers to our ecological dilemnas are found in nature, we are just too impatient - wanting a quick fix; which often produces bigger problems.
