Where can i find out property tax info?

I an needing to see what property tax a month will be on a home that is 3600 sq feet in murphy tx... were can i find that out?

Property tax usually depends on the assessed value, rather than on square footage.  According to the second reference, (tax rates and exemptions), if the home in question is actually in the city of Murphy, the 2007 tax rate was 0.468300%.  The site (first source) offers various ways to find the appraisal information, if you have the address, owner's name, or parcel number.

    The monthly fee would then be 0.468300%/12 (or .039025%) of the assessed value.


  2. Call the county assessor's office.  Some counties, but far from all, have info online - you can check there.

    It will depend on more than just the square footage.  Also probsbly the area of town, and condition of the home.
