Where can i find out the rules for where a speed limit sign can be placed

where could i find mi state codes and statutes about the placement of speed limit signs?

Where the speed limit changes.  If placed near an intersection, it would be downstream, where traffic turning onto the highway from the cross-street could see it.

The state uses The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, or MUTCD to make sure signs are placed in the right place. You should be able to look it up there or call your local County Road Commission.

I am about 100 percent sure there aren't any rules on where they can be placed....they are just put wherever they are needed.
