  1. I'd snoop around and find your dad's birth certificate. That should give you enough information to start your search. From there, check out the periodical index at the library, the Dept of Corrections website in whatever state you think he lived in, newspaper archives and court records in the town where you think he was convicted, the Clerk's office in the county where you think your grandparents were married, and ultimately you can pull his military records from the National Archives Military Personnel Center in St. Louis.

  2. If you order a copy of his death certificate, it should tell you where he was buried.  It will also give you other information, such as when and where he was born, the names of his parents, and where they were born.  In order to get a death certificate, you'll need to know where he died, and approximately when. Then you can write to the vital records department in the state where he died and order the record. Death certificates usually cost about $10-20.  This website will tell you how to order death records for each state:

If you're not sure when or where he died, there are a couple ways to find out.  If he lived in the U.S. and died after 1965 or so, he'll probably be listed in the Social Security Death Index.  Just search for his name and see what comes up:

If that doesn't work, you can try looking online.  Some states have online death indexes (some for free, but some only available through pay sites like ancestry).  You could also try asking relatives.

    Good luck!

  3. There are Yahoo groups you could join.Try findagrave.com too.

  4. try going to like the town hall or something they should have records you can look at i think idk how it works but if no one else's answer helps you shoot me an email and i'll find out for you

  5. Try records around town that may contain him or go looking around local cemetaries that might have a log or info where you can ask for or look at, hope you find where he is :)
