type in your zipcode at http://www.accuweather.com and click on past history.

Here, all you have to do is type in the date you want. All weather observations will be available for most dates since 1948 in Detroit, MI.

Just select Preliminary Climatology Data (CF6), then the month desired.  You may need to select archived data first in order to get the other months to be selectable.
