You could contact a school in another state and set it up that way. Or I found this is a favorite. To contact a class of older kids in your school or the middle school. The younger kids really like to hear about being older. Then at the end of the year there was a social and they got to meet each other.

well it depends on what kind of program you want to have.. i mean you could do prison if you want the kids to lear about people in prison( you just have to really really monitor what is said between them and read each outgoing and incoming letter.) or you could do iraq if you want them to learn about our troops... or you could do a school in a different state.. children of the same age.. it sounds to me like a great way for children to talk to some one about there problems and just to really have a friend they can say absolutely any thing too with out judgement..  any of these would benefit both writers im sure people in prison and iraq as well as kids in another school would love to have a letter every week to look forward too.. i hope i helped you
