Buying property is a minefield for those buying property here in Spain. You can do everything 100% correct and still be in the wrong. There are many reasons for this. The main one is that Spain is only a very young democracy. It has massive immigration coming in from richer countries such as the UK and Germany. They haven't got all the laws in place yet and many departments are not in touch with other departments. It can lead to chaos.

Many of us live here and learn the system and hopefully get it right but the beaurocracy drives you mad.
