Good luck. Best bet is asian markets.

I live in Sacramento, and the only place i've seen starfruit is when i'm overseas. Never in California.

ask the produce manager in your favorite grocery store why the store doesn't carry them.

I ask questions of this sort all the time in our local store. I usually get what I ask for the next time I am in the store.
