  1. There Is N0 Such Thing As A Teacup.

They Are Just Runts Of a Litter And Are Prone To D0UBLE The Health Problems Of A Regular Sized Dog Of That Breed.

  2. What is more important to you? A 12 pound (YET still very healthy) dog, or a 4 pound dog that would die, and if it didn't it'd cost a ton of money in vet bills to save it. How in the world is 12 pounds "too big"?! A bowling ball is bigger!!!

The only breeders who sell teacup anything are called "backyard breeders". They usually run puppy mills and are horrible people.

There is a dog group called "toy". Why do you need a dog to get any smaller than 12 pounds?

There is on such thing as a teacup dog. It is just runts that are bred who end up dying or having severe health issues.

Edit: Right, but those toy dogs that are small are healthy, and the "teacup" runts are sick, but they are still bred over and over again, meaning UNHEALTHY. Your question shouldn't have "toy" in parenthesis, because toy is an actual group. Teacup should be in parenthesis because they are not real.

There is a schnauzer in the toy group though, and these are normal healthy dogs, but if it says "teacup toy schnauzer", its going to be loaded with health problems.

  3. There is no such things as "teacups" Call it a teacup if you want, the real name is runt. Its like me calling a rottweiler a doberman. you may want to do your research because NO GOOD BREEDER will EVER breed teacups! Check out this question from earlier

  4. I found this when I typed teacup dogs into Google.

The first link is letting you know the dangers of getting a dog that is too small. I figure you're smart enough to know some of that already, but it will help you when you are visiting local breeders by pointing out some "red flags" to watch for.

The next few links are for some of the specific breeds that you mentioned wanting. They are for breed rescue organizations. I wanted to give you those links first because a great way of saving money is to buy your dog not through a breeder, but through breed rescue organizations. These organizations, which are all over the US, have purebred dogs that have been "rescued" from either bad living situations or puppy mills. They are typically cheaper, but just as good as going to a breeder, as each dog has to be ok'd by the national breed association's regulations, etc.

If I knew where you lived, I could help you a bit more, but since I don't, my advice is to type the breed of dog and "breed rescue" or "purebred rescue" into Google with your zip code and see what organizations come up.

The last link is a list of EVERY SINGLE breed in the United States, and a link to each breed's website, with tones of cool info about them.

    Hope that helps!

  5. Unfortunately, like the rest of the general public you have been mislead into believing that there are 'teacup' breeds of dogs. You have been severely deceived. The term teacup is used by BACK YARD breeders and UNETHICAL registered breeders, firstly to sell more puppies, and secondly to ensure that the outrageous prices they charge are justified. Your best bet would be to research breeders and do your best to find a breeder who will support you for the life time of your pup. Be careful when getting your pup and make sure you can see both mum and dad. If something seems wrong with either, WALK AWAY!!!

Good luck with the new addition to your family when he or she arrives!!

  6. There's no such thing as a 'teacup' anything.

It's just a word poor breeders use for poorly bred runts to get you to spend more money.

  7. I had a "teacup" once and i want you to know about what i went threw so i am going to copy and paste what i wrote before to others that asked about the teacups. I am not getting rude in anyway i just don't think that they should breed such tiny dogs and i want people to understand to a point of what i went threw owning one.

Teacup is a runt. They can get very expensive as in vet bills. I had a yorkie-poo that was the runt and i spent a lot of money on him at first. I took him cause he was sickly and i wanted to make him better and i did, but it cost me a lot in vets bills. I'm not telling you this to be rude i just want you to know what you are getting yourself into before you choose a teacup. They are cute, but they are also a lot of work. I had to get up every couple hours to feed him cause he was so tiny he had to eat like he was a new born. He ate puppy food he just had to have it fed to him every couple hours. It was a lot of work and it cost a lot of money. After about a year he became normal then i only had to go every year for his shots and check-up's unless something else happened. He was healthy after that, but it took a lot to get him there. I had one vet say to me this dog is never going to make it anyway and that is when i got my second opinion and he said i don't think that this puppy is going to make it, but we can try and he did make it. I am not going to go into the whole story cause it's a really long story i just want you to have an idea of what to expect if you do get one. Also if you do get one make sure that you find a vet that can deal with these tiny puppies cause if you don't then your just wasting your money and the dogs time. I hate to say it but some vets just don't know how to deal with these tiny dogs. Some do so just make sure that you find one that knows what he is doing. Good Luck!

I got my baby 12 years ago.

Please don't think that i am being mean i just want people to understand what it takes to take care of a "teacup". I have a yorkie-poo now and she is 7 pounds and that is small just not to small. "teacups" are usually about 3 pounds fully grown. To me that is sooo tiny. I loved my baby so much and i will never regret getting him and to me there will never be another one like him, but it was hard and nerve racking taking care of him.

I know that 4 pounds more does not seem like a lot, but it is. It is a lot different when it comes to health and everything for that matter. Me and my husband both are like wow she just seems so much bigger even thought she isn't. Plus she is only 4 months old so she will get a little bigger. We are figuring that she will be around 9 pounds or so and that is a nice size if you ask me. Oh yeah, she was 7 pounds with a ton of hair. lol I would say she is maybe 6 pounds now that she had it all cut off. Still she seems a lot bigger then my other baby was.

I fill that i need to add this.

My baby died at 11 years old of a heart murmur. 11 is young for a little dog. There is a long story that comes along with this like the vet that i did have didn't know anything about these tiny dogs, his size was a part of it and so on, but i won't get into all that just know that 11 is young and i fill that i got ripped off on the time that i had with him and that makes me very sad. Breeding dogs to get teacups is not fair to the dog or the people that own them.

  8. You heard wrong, there is no such thing as teacups. They are the runts of the litter, sold for more money merely because they are tiny.

  9. Yea let me direct you to your local BYB.

Get a dog that weighs more than a wet sponge. I doubt the teacup dog youre looking for is healthy, those things are LOADED with health problems.
