  1. I would NOT buy one online.  It's not that you'll get ripped off (woodwindandbrass is a great site) it's just that if you're in the market for an intermediate or pro trumpet I assume you know what you're looking for so I'm not sure how you can buy a trumpet without playing it first.  These are hand made instruments (for the most part) and despite the technicalogical advances in the last 20 years there's still a lot of variation from horn to horn - even in the same model.

I'm the proud owner of a Bach Stad but I probably played 5 of them before I chose the one I liked (plus probably 15 others of brands I didn't like).   Then the other night at rehearsal this guy shows up with a Yamaha Bobby Shew.  He let me blow it and now I'm about ready to ditch my Bach Strad!  You just never know.

If you're near a metropolitan area go to a sizeable store with a large selection and play everything in the shop.  You still may not find what you want.

In SF Bay Area (maybe all of west coast although I'm sure there's something in LA) it's Best Music in Oakland hands down.

  2. Try www.giardinelli.com and www.woodwindbrasswind.com. The prices are pretty much the same.

  3. You can find it at http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&...
