Im wanting to exhange £500 into dollars, any one know which outlet is offering the best deal?

Find out what commissions your credit / bank card charge to withdraw money from an ATM once you are there.

Often they offer lower commissions that banks and bureau de changes.

Be careful, because although your bank will tell you how much they will charge. The bank where you withdraw from will also charge you co mission which can vary a lot, so do some research into that.

Should take a few $ with you though, in case the ATM at the airport doesn´t work.

The rates change so quickly between places it is hard to tell.  If you are in a large city - Hotels and Banks are generally the best places to look - but I would call around and find the best rate wherever you are before doing it.



I rarely take cash to a foreign country any more - the absolute best exchange rate is almost always via an ATM in whatever country you are in.



Some banks will give you better exchange rates if you are depositing it, rather than just exchanging it for cash as well.  So, if you happen to have a local bank - depositing it into your account then withdrawing cash in US dollars would often be the best route.
