  1. first shelter .. save an animal .. u might have to pay a little bit .. but it's worth it ... all shots and fixed .. plus most come w/ a micro chip if they run away... if not NEWSPAPER they give away free pets all the time ...but if you don't have the money to buy the dog.. you won't have the money to care for one either !!!

  2. You get what you pay for and in the long run it might cost you more in vet bills trying to get rid of parasites or cure issues relating to skin and organs.....if your talking cheap already I think you should wait until you can afford to properly own an animal...they are never cheap..food alone for good quality is around $40-$70 monthly....and if there is an accident needing emergency care (what then) Why not just foster dogs for a time frame....

  3. Shelters, rescues, pet finder..These dogs have been checked by a vet so that saves you money right there! And most have been spayed or neutered another savings..You just can't beat it and the dogs..they have many! And all in need of a loving forever home!

  4. try petfinder.com , or find a good breeder.

  5. The best way to acquire a dog, or any other pet, is to adopt. It's usually the cheapest and you're doing a great favor by providing a homeless pet with a loving home. I did a quick google search and came up with http://www.nycacc.org/ which is a large shelter in NYC. Shelters many times have puppies and will be more than happy to let you adopt one.

  6. Its been said but the pound or local animal shelter is your best bet.

I hope you realize puppies don't stay 'cheap'.

  7. your local shelter www.petfinder.com

  8. Agree with the other Poster. The pound is a great place. If you know how to handle a dog. Make sure to find out as much as you can about the pup first. Although that can be hard. Around here the pound has dogs for 50 dollars including shots and a certificate for a free spay or neuter.
