Where can i find the protocol for trains in australia about being kicked off?

my brother has just been kicked off a train for not having a ticket when the machine was broken we have photo id and a refernce number ... what the go? whats the go with saftey and protocol

did you report the ticket out of order when you got on the train to the conductor?  or did you call the company to advise them?

the codunctor could easy assumed you were lying

also did you try to use another ticket machine?

most station usually have more then one ticket machines
