  1. what i do it go on google earth find a nearby ponf or lake, or if u already know of one. just take a fishing pole, standard hook, and put a gold fish on it. the goldfish cost like 29 cents at petco but yeah i cath turtles all the time with those, or you can try to net them when they come close to the shore

  2. I would continue going to pet stores if you are considering one for a pet.

Or, petfinder.com (http://www.petfinder.com/) is AWESOME for looking for almost any type of animal. Just to be sure I put in a search for reptiles and my zip code and at least 7 turtles came up!!

Please do not snag one from the wild. You will be messing with biology and that isn't right!

  3. Find the nearest Chinatown to where you live and go to their outdoor market... they have tubs and tubs of baby/grown turtles!! But beware... turtles carry tons of diseases!

  4. in a local pond probably. or in the woods

  5. In the wild.

    Or Asian food markets.

    Or zoos.

  6. Near a stream, but if you don't take care of them properly they can die easy.  Also they really don't sell them anymore as they carry a disease that many young kids get from handling them, and not washing their hands.

Also near a brook they are usually near the shore in shallow water.

  7. go to creeks, ponds, bogs, and swamps if and when u can

  8. in a pond or a lake or a swamp

  9. idk any where really (woods ponds lakes some oceans rivers ect) goood luck finding turtles hahahaha

  10. depends where you live.  in tucson, i've found tortoises and box turtles.  depends on your climate.

  11. golf course water hazards are usually ripe with painted turtles.

  12. I believe they are illegal to sell because they carry salmonella.

  13. You can also find them at your local reptile shows.

  14. in the wild.... duh... go to your local pond and try to find them... they are quick and usually don't come out of the water... the best time to get them is on sunny days when they are sun bathing and or walking around on the ground.  in the pond... youll never get them.

  15. In ponds, creeks, lakes, rivers, drainage ditches, at fine restaurants, and at turles.com.

  16. Ponds, swamps, rivers, creeks, usually wherever there is some calm stagnant water.

  17. In the ocean.

Try a local pound or even try craigslist. People advertise pets on there as well.

  18. I would try a local Reptile Rescue or Sanctuary. :) It is always better to give a good home to an animal that did not previously have one.

  19. a pond close to you

  20. outside, reptile expo

  21. my dad got mine at his work

  22. on the road

  23. pond
