Jackal's HornFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Skull of a Sri Lankan jackal with a hornThe Jackal's Horn is a boney cone-shaped excrescence which can occasionally grow on the skulls of golden jackals. It is associated with magical powers in south-eastern Asia. This horn usually measures half an inch in length, and is concealed by fur. So far science has been unable to determine the reason behind the growth of hair on it, since it is a dead object. The natives of Sri Lanka call this growth narric-comboo, and both Tamil and Sinhalese people traditionally believe it to be a potent talisman which can grant wishes and reappear to its owner at its own accord when lost. Some Sinhalese believe that the horn can grant the holder invulnerability in any lawsuit.[1] According to healers and witch doctors in Nepal, a jackal horn can be used to win in gambling bouts, and ward off evil spirits. The Tharu people of Bardia (Nepal) believe that jackal horns are retractible, and only protrude when jackals howl in chorus. A hunter who manages to extract the horn will place it in a silver casket of vermilion powder, which is thought to give the object sustenance. The Tharu believe that the horn can grant the owner the ability to see in the dark and seduce women.[2] In some areas, the horn is called Seear Singhi (the root words being the Persian "seah" meaning black, and "Singh" which is a Hindu title) and is tied to the necks of children. The horn is sometimes traded by low caste people, though it is thought that they are in fact pieces of deer antlers sold to the credulous.[3] In Bengal, it is believed that when placed within a safe, jackal horns can increase the amount of money within three-fold. Some criminal elements of the Bengal Sansi will use fake jackal horns to lull unwitting people into trusting them, and will offer to place these horns into their victim's safe in order to discover its location.

Hi.. I am Zaxona and I am from India, recently I came across a Jackal horn 'Siyar Singi'It is said that jackal horns are very rare and a very powerful article in occult and
It is also said that Jackal horn 'Siyaar Singhi' are of two types.
Type 1 - it is found only in the leader of the pack of jackals, that too when it howls at night. Basically the leader of the pack of jackal starts howling and continue to do so, till it faints. At this time/condition, it develops this so called horns in its head. If you are lucky and brave enough to cut it off then you sure can get this 'siyaar singhi'. But, it is a difficult task as all the members of the jackal pack give up their life protecting their leader. So you really have to be very lucky to get this rare piece. It signifies leadership and bravery hence this 'siyaar singhi' was usually kept by maharajas and his generals.
Type 2 - it is found only in a particular species of jackals, that too one in a thousand. When a jackal of this species becomes very old, it looses its ability to move fast and hunt its prey, 'nature never leaves its habitants to die and suffer', hence it is during this time that it develops this horns called 'siyaar singhi'. This horns have a rare ability to hypnotize and attract other animals towards the jackal making it easier for the jackal to prey on its victim. It have a kind of a hypnotic power. It is usually kept by businessman to draw in more customers/clients.
Both this two types of 'siyaar singhi' have an unexplained phenomenon, ie, they grow in length and their hair also grows if it is kept in vermillion (Sindoor) inside a silver container. This very vermillion (Sindoor) test is also used to validate its genuiness. If a 'siyaar singhi' is eating this vermillion (Sindoor) then it is said to be genuine.
'Siyaar Singhi' is very rare and difficult to obtain, and only the chosen and the lucky ones will be able to lay their hands on a genuine 'siyaar singhi'. Though fake ones are readily available in the market having cost range from Rs. 51 - Rs 501.
'Siyaar Singhi' is a much sought after treasure these days because it is rare and is used in tantrikism (occult) as well as kept in houses to ward off evil spirits and also to increase fortune and prosperity. It is said this item is widely used for protection from wild animals, evil spirits and dangerous forth comings, etc. There are also several prayogs (uses) that exist eg. to fullfill wishes, to get money, alter karma through shiyar singhi, etc.It is also said that its bearer will be very fortunate and prosperous.
Plz. be advise how preserve it? As I am keeping it in silver box with some holes on top and kept in sindhoor with Clove (lawang).
If anyone/ any party is interested to purchase or view this 'jackal horn' please contact me at :
