Where can i get Active Dry Yeast ?????In which section???

Can anyone tell me in which grocery stores can i get active dry yeast.I live in LA......so could anyone tell me

  1. It is in the baking section of the store usually near the cornstarch. Always check the expiration date of dry yeast. If it is expired then it will not work. Just a tip :)


  2. Active Dry Yeast is sold in the baking section of the grocery store usually next to the flour, bread mixes,and cake mixes. Occasionally I have seen it sold in the spice aisle.

  3. I would try the baking section of any grocery store.

  4. Don't do it. Grocery stores and supermarkets carry bakers' yeast, not wine or beer yeasts. There must be several home brew shops in LA that will sell you yeast that will give you something worth drinking.

  5. Any of your local grocery stores will carry it. Just look in the baking section. It should be around the sugar and other spices.

    If you want a specific store.... try Ralph's.

  6. In the baking supplies section of any grocery store or super Walmart.  Usually by the flour and baking soda.  There is also rapid rise and regular dry yeast.  It can be bought in little envelope type packets or in a small jar, if you need or use more.
