You can get R4 at computer market, online shopping. If you want to buy R4 online, go to www.bamboogaming.com or www.ebay.com

There's a place on Elizabeth St, I'm not sure if it sells R4s specifically but it does sell what you want (a mod chip to download games onto, right?).

I'm not exactly sure how you will get to it but try going to Melbourne Central Station and exiting through the Elizabeth St side. Then walk along the tram line towards Victoria Market (ask for directions if you don't know where Vic Market is). The shop will be on the left side of the road and has a sign on the front saying Wii Mods, it will be before the next tram stop. The name of this store has Mobile Phones in it (not sure what it is actually called but it is pretty easy to find).

Unfortunately the Mod Chip is $80, you can get them off the internet for $50.

Oh, and a last note, you will need a Micro SD Card, just ask the shop keeper if you are unsure.

I live in Brisbane, but when I was in Melbourne I was taken to some Technology Markets. They occur every Sunday so you can see if there's one near you.

I've provided a link of the locations in the sources.

They sell the R4's cheap here. I found one for about $35 at one of the stalls, my brother bought his for $90 from a more "secluded" dealer.

And all of the ones at the market are legit, so you don't have to worry about getting a fake one.

Most real stores won't carry it, due to its rampant use for copyright infringement (stealing games).  Your best bet would be to find it online.
