Check e-bay, last time I looked they had a few decent used tables.  Heck, these days e-bay has everything!  Happy hunting.

gold crowns only come in pro 8 and 9' sizes(but with the wide modern style rails they are almost 5 x 10)

Pool halls are a great place to find a used gold crown.  They are well made tables that will take tons of abuse so many halls have them.  If they sell off older tables, or are going out of business you might get one for $3000 or less used.  Since new ones are as much a $9000, this is a good deal.

Find out if the price you are quoted includes set up at your home and new cloth(if needed)  That can cost up to another $1000 since many installers charge more to work on antiques and commercial grade tables. Many pool halls will include this service with the sale, but ask anyway.
