  1. If you are older enough, I were rent a car. Go there with no problem with rental car.

  2. Save up more money first.  Otherwise you will get stuck with a car that may run for a month and then quit.  That is my advice, don't buy a car just to have a car, wait for $$$ and the right one to come along!

    Good Luck!

  3. NO WHERE, you should consider looking at a junk yard.  The price of metal is way up.  A car will bring around $500 just for scrap metal.

  4. Besides a public auto auction, craigslist.org, the newspaper ads, try calling the local pawn shops and car title loan companies. Ask them if they have any cars for sale, or if they know of anywhere that might.

In the elss than $1,000 price range, you shouldn't expect a perfect or even "good" condition car. You'll prob. need tiress, A/C repair, or something similar.

Under the $2,000 price range, you might be able to get an early year 2000s range car, Hyundai Accent, in decent shape.
