I don't think any exist anymore. There used to be free sites with no advertising. These were subsidized by the profit from other goods and services. I had a couple, but all have gone over to advertising. The reason is profits are down for paid services. People have been cutting prices to raise business and that has eaten up the profit that was available to subsidize the free sites. If they are going to maintain a free service, then it has to be paid for in some manner, and today, that means advertising. As each of mine have gone over, I've searched and come up empty. Domain names cost money, for the fee to do the database maintenance if nothing else. Registrars do not act for free. Somebody pays. Somebody ALWAYS pays. There is no such thing as a free lunch. If the money to run the equipment and sch udoes not come out of your pocket, i/e., a "free" site, then it comes from someone else, and today, that means advertising. Do you REALLY expect anyone to be so altruistic as to put up a free service and pay for it (at a loss) out of their own pocket? Well, do you? If you had the money, would YOU do it? Good luck finding that special someone who is stupid enough to do such a thing...
