  1. Hey do not confused. U needed more RAMs and try increase sharing memory for display....possible on laptop.

in PC simply replace with better one fulfil ur needs.

  2. What your friend meant is a new Graphics Processing Unit, Graphics Card w/e you wanna call it. What you need to do is go to Newegg.com and under the computer hardware tab at the top look at Video Cards/Graphics cards.

You also need to find out what kind of GPU slots you have in your computer, are they PCI? PCI-E? PCI-E x16? PCI-E x16 2.0?

Knowing that will assure that the card you invest in will actually freakin work when you put it in :D

  3. Your friend is sady mistaken. You need a 256mb graphic card itself. Not a 256mb card driver. Installing if it does will mess your 64mb card up from working. I probably will not install saying you do not have a 256mb card named to install the correct software. Just because you install a 256mb driver does not make your card a 256mb card. If thats the case I have over 25 (8-64mb cards) from the past I need to sell as 256mb cards. Depends on what you want to do but seeing you are using a 64mb now you probably have a AGP slot and AGP 256mb you can pick up around $30-$150 depending on what your needs are. Check out www.tigerdirect.com and video cards on left the AGP then the size you want. Thanks

  4. You can get a graphics card driver from the company that made the graphics chip.

But you don't seem to know what a graphics card driver is (and your friend should not be giving computer advise to anyone if it actually said "graphics card driver").

The driver is just the software used to run the graphics card, to upgrade the amount of video memory you'd need to actually replace the graphics card with a new one.

Of course if you have a laptop (and you put the question in laptops and notebooks so I'll assume you do) then you probably don't have a graphics card, just a graphics chip soldered onto the motherboard that you can't replace.
