Oh my gosh!!!! I went to Marshall's yesterday, and they had a $150 straightener for only $30!!! =O

it may be a little more than 10 or 20 dollars, but sallys Beauty Supply will sell to the public and you can get a decent flat iron there.

As far as buying and GHD, or Chi iron they are 100+ but as a professional I dont think they should be sold to the public they get much to hot and I have seen alot of clients burn there hair to the point of extreme breakage

These are good flat irons but remember they do not equal the quality of a Chi or Sedu...in other words, you get what you pay for:

Sometimes good straighteners end up at Marshalls! I've seen them there for around $20 but it really depends on when you go and what they have in stock at the moment.
