Where can i get a hedgehog?

how much do they cost? and are they legal in south carolina?

You can get an african pygmy hedgehog from an exotic pet store or look online for a breeder.  They can live a very long time, upwards of 6 years if they're taken care of properly.  The best food to get is from Mazuri, it's a zoo food brand you can buy online, it costs about $30 for a bag, but that bag will literally last you years.  It's a big 30-pound bag.  You can put in gallon size zip lock bags and freeze and keep for a LONG time.  My second hedgehog lived a lot longer on this diet than my other one did.  It's a special insectivore diet.

My friend has one..let me ask her and i'll get back to you......ok...i asked her and she said she bought it from a lady..lol...so i dunno....i don't think they make good pets tho

I live in Greenville, SC and I know a few people with hedgehogs. You can order them from an exotic store online, I don't know of any pet stores that sell them, but you could ask and see if they would order one for you. Petland might. Hedgehogs are controlled, therefore a pet store must be registered to be able to sell them, sugar gliders, and prairie dogs, among other things.

i'm really sorry, but according to my source, HEDGEHOGS ARE ILLEGAL IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA.

if you were going to buy one, I would suggest buying one in a specialty pet store.

ask your vet and ask your local pet store i no they are in ohio cause my brother had one

hedgehogs are not ideal pets they need a lot of looking after,they are best to be left in the wild
