You can work at 14 but the government is so strict on how many hours and put so much limitations on what the employers can have you do that most employers will not hire a 14year old even if they need the help just because it's to much of a hassle of them.Not only that summer almost over and they will figure they wont be able to use you much when your at school because federal law doesn't allow them to work you on a school day for more than 2hrs and it has to be before 8or 9pm  I think it's stupid but it was made that way because back in the early part of the century kids would drop out of school and find a good paying job instead. Now kids aren't allowed to have fun because it's against the law to have fun I know how you feel it six. I remember having the police called on me constantly for playing a game of roller hockey on a dead end street with the kids in the neighborhood.  It's stupid then they wonder why kids as young as 14 are drinking,doing drugs and having baby's! You should try cutting grass and waxing cars.. You can make alot of money waxing people cars around 25 - 30 dollars per car and more for SUV.  Try seeing the price they charge for a regular wax job at your local car wash and get an idea how much you should charge..  But You have to do a good job and not leave behind any residue. once you do one good job people will tell there friends and you'll find yourself getting more request.
