  1. To work for a business in GA you have to be 14.   That means that you would need to work for a private individual or family.  You could do babysitting for a limited number of hours, help with housework ,help younger kids learn school work (tutoring),help out in a home office, do yard work but not operate machinery, etc.  Be sure you do not go to work at a place where you and your folks do not know the people because there is too much badness in the world.   You can also work for a family member or relative in their business.  You can create a job for yourself too.  For example you can stencil street numbers on curbs or make and sell number signs, make crafts and sell them, put out a neighborhood newspaper and sell ads in it, create a neighborhood web page or a web page on something you know about, if you are good at computers you could set up programs for people who may not know so much about them or do research from search engines.   You can offer to set up memories web pages or web pages for people's pets, etc.   If you live in an area where it is safe to do it you can collect cans to recycle.

  2. Ask Friends, neighbors and family if you can do small jobs for them.  Cleaning, yard work, dog walking.  This fall you can rake leaves.  But you can't get a legitimate job, you're too young.

  3. Babysitting or tutoring at your school is pretty much it until you turn 14.  Oh, you might want to try dog walking or pet sitting for vacationing neighbors.  Make sure your parents know the people very well. At 13, we are not the best judge of character.

Grocery stores hire Front Service Clerks/Baggers at 15.  Its dealing with the public and taking out groceries. Try Publix or Kroger, if you are interested.

At 15, you can get a work permit with parental permission to work up to 15 hours per week at restricted times and days.  It averages out to about 2 hours per day during the week and more during the weekend (as long as it isn't on Sunday, because that is a day before school).  Hours change as you get older. The rules are called Minor Labor Rules. Go to GA DOL to learn more.
