  1. I have had 4 leopard lizards (Sarfi, Sasha, Doogie and Sa'Gira) and I think that they are some of the coolest lizards out there.  I mean they run on their hind legs and how dinosaur like is that....I kept them (one at time of course) in a 20 gallon long tank with play sand (stay away from calci and repti sand they clump harder when wet and cause more impaction then play sand and they can also discolor your lizard) they eat crickets and superworms, butter worms, meal worms, wax worms, the beetles the meal worms turn into, just about anything including other lizards. They have been know to choke to death eating meals that were too large. You want the basking spot to be 90-95 with the rest of the tank around 80 and no lower than 70 at night. Desert creatures so the humidity can be low. Make sure that you look at the underside of the neck, if you see stripes then you have a long nosed leopard lizard (Gambelia wislizenii) is you see spots it's (G. sila) the blunt nosed leopard lizard and that species is endangered. Below are two sites I found for some general care info. Good luck.
