  1. You can make one:

Take a long strip of paper, the width will be the distance between points.

Carefully tie a simple knot in it. (I think this is a granny knot? The one you put in your shoelace before you tie the bow.)

    Pull closed (carefully)

    Flatten.

You should have a regular pentagon.

Put it on your template plastic or cardboard. Mark where each corner is.

Join the points with straight lines between every second one.

    (i.e. a line between points 1 and 3, 2 and 4, 3 and 5 etc.)

    Ta-da!

You have made a 5-pointed star.

  2. go to free patterns they have the star you are looking for

  3. You could just download a star picture from online, print it out in the size you need and trace it. Or draw one out in paint shop, MS paint, etc.  Many paint and drawing programs have some pre set shapes like stars and cirles.  You can also make your own if you lay out a pentagram the size you need, and connect the points across the middle. (Requires some math and/or drawing skills).

  4. try one of the quilt sites and download the pattern, print and trace.
