  1. Well depends what do you want to do with your router you'll get a hard time finding a good one, you don't mention a wireless router but I assume since you said good signals.

I've tried at least 6 routers in the last year and just found one that fits my need, but it's an expensive one D-Link DGL-4500, why only this one works for me, because I have a Nintendo Wii and PS3 connected both wireless at about 40ft and right now they are fine, but with other routers like the cheap ones $50-60 it's very hard to get a consistent connection if you are gaming or streaming media.

However if you only look to have your computers connected to the internet then any wireless router will do it's job, I would personally recommend Linksys, never had a problem with those, however some others may have experience a lot of issues with that brand, D-link and netgear are great brands also and they have entry level routers around $50.

One more thing, select what do you really need, for instance if you don't have any wireless-n devices and you are only going with 802.11g choose the G that way it would be cheaper, but if you go that protocol try to get the best one to get the best signal possible I'm talking about getting the G+ in some brands called speedbooster, look for a router with MIMO feature that offers a more consistent connection.

I hope this is what you were looking for, good luck!
