  1. Canadian Tire Stores has a new plastic ice-cream maker for picnics.

    It's cheap, only needs ice & salt, comes with recipes.

    I'm sure Wal-Mart has something similar.

  2. find it all here- http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng....

  3. Check Wal-mart

  4. Bed Bath and Bayond

    Here is a great recipe:

    BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM

    Ingredients:

        * 8 ounces  Bittersweet Chocolate, chopped

        * 8 large egg yolks

        * 1/2 cup granulated sugar

        * 2 cups heavy cream

        * 1 cup whole milk

        * Pinch of salt

        * 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

    Equipment:

        * Heatproof bowl

        * Deep mixing bowl

        * Saucepan

        * Whisk

        * Strainer

        * Electric mixer

        * Home ice cream maker

    Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of about 1 1/2 inches of nearly simmering water, whisking until smooth. Remove the bowl from the heat and let cool.

    Meanwhile, with an electric mixer on medium-high speed, beat the egg yolks and the sugar in a large deep bowl for about 8 minutes, until thick and pale and the mixture forms a ribbon when the beaters are lifted.

    Bring the cream, milk, and salt just to a boil over medium-high heat in a medium saucepan. In a slow steady stream, pour the cream mixture into the yolk mixture, whisking constantly. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium-low heat, whisking frequently at first and constantly when it begins to thicken. Whisk for about 8 minutes. Do not allow the mixture to boil. Immediately pour through a fine strainer set over a large glass measure or bowl.

    Whisk the chocolate into the custard, in 2 batches, whisking until smooth after each addition. Whisk in the vanilla. Let cool to room temperature. Refrigerate, covered, for at least 4 hours, or until very cold, and up to 2 days.

    Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The ice cream will be soft, but ready to eat. For a firmer texture, transfer to a freezer container, and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving. (The ice cream is best served the day it is made.)

  5. you can get  it at any drug store like cvs walgreen k mart wal mart  amazon.com has some nice ones as well.

    Choosing an Ice Cream Maker

    You'll find a variety of ice cream makers to choose from, and most do the job quite well. The less expensive large quantity ice cream makers do a fine job but require several pounds of ice and rock salt for each batch. They're also bulky, so storage space might be a consideration. The smaller countertop models like the Cuisinart or La Glaciere do a good job, and you won't have the mess or expense of rock salt and ice. With these makers, you just freeze the 1- to 1 1/2-quart bowl, pour the ice cream mixture in, and turn it on. The bowl is a special canister with a liquid refrigerant sealed between the walls.

    Preparation:

    Directions for vanilla ice cream

    Combine powdered sugar, whipping cream and vanilla; stir until smooth. Add half-and-half; pour into freezer container of electric freezer. Freeze vanilla ice cream according to manufacturer's directions. Makes 2 quarts vanilla ice cream

  6. Try a white mountain freezer they are expensive but make really good ice cream.  just call some places in your city and ask if they have ice cream freezers.  I think true value hard ward used to have some.  JC Penny's home store has ice cream freezers as does Target Wal Mart and there are probably some ice cream freezers in independent stores in your town. just call around.  you will need ice, salt and a recipe for ice cream.  google ice cream recipes read through them , then choose the one that you like the best.  Most call for cream or milk , sugar and eggs, put the mixture in the tub part of the freezer, put the  tub into the shell  part of the freezer, be sure the tub  cover is on tight,  add ice and crank until it won't turn anymore

  7. If you have a WalMart, KMart, or Target (or ShopKo or Fred Myer or anything else like that) near you, go there.  Check out their ice cream freezers.  You can get electric ones or the old hand-crank variety.  These will all come with instructions.  Open the box when you get to the car, pull out the instructions, and make a shopping list.  Stop at the grocery on your way home.

    Sometimes a hardware store or home improvement store or even a chain drugstore will have these.
