  1. There are so many options!

    (1) You could save up used bottles from beer or other glass drinks. Or you could ask someone that you know to save up those glasses too. They just need to be cleaned really well with a brush and some good cleaner/bleach.

    (2) Post on craigslist that you need bottles for your project and you might get some hits there.

    (3) Purchasing them is an option if you want to make sure that nothing is growing inside. Although they will still need to be very clean before bottling.

is a great company. We have used them for good quality beer bottles and they also sell soda products as well.

    24 - 12oz. bottles will run you $12.99

They carry plastic PETE bottles as well if you want to go with plastic.

    (4) Go to a local homebrew shop where they sell beer/wine/soda supplies and they will certainly have a selection of different sizes and types of bottles.

I hope this help and good luck with your root beer!

  2. Either get a bar to save you their reusable longnecks or go to a beer distributor and by a case or so of returns. Mine only charged me the cost of deposit, $1.50 per case.

  3. I got mine from the recycling center

but remember get the ones that use crimp caps..
