  1. I don't know where you are flying from, but $300 round trip (unless you are flying from Oklahoma or Kansas) is probably not out of line...forget Spirit, they don't fly to DFW

    You might try Southwest

  2. Are your dates flexable?  If so, I would suggest signing up for the "$9 Fare Sale" through Spirit Airlines at http://www.spiritair.com.  Here's the scoop - you pay an initial $9 which will last you 3 months.  After your 3 month trial period is up, they will charge you an additional $40 to maintain your membership for another year.  You are free to cancel at ANY time.  The benefits?  That paid membership allows you to access fare deals that are INCREDIBLE, or can be so long as you're somewhat flexable with dates.  You will get random e-mails throughout the week telling you of the deals and, if you're lucky and FAST, you could potentially purchase a round-trip ticket for as low as $18 plus taxes/fees which are only around $20-30.  CHEAP.  I recently visited a friend in New York City and had paid my $9 just for the heck of it.  I found a round-trip fare for $18 that fit some amazing dates, but by the time I was able to get them they were already sold out.  You really do have to be quick to get the dates and prices you want, but it really pays off if you are!  Being a fare-club member, I ended up paying $110 total which all things considered is still pretty cheap.  Check it out - it may be worth it!

  3. Try http://asianairfares.com

  4. check out flyairfares.com

  5. There are two sites I recommend:

    www.kayak.com

    and

    www.farecompare.com

Try to search for nearby airports as well. At kayak.com, check the "Search Nearby Airports" option, and on FareCompare.com, after searching for a flight, click the "Your Additional Options" link, and select "Add Alternate Cities."

Both of these sites search many, many airlines on the dates you specify to get you the best price. They offer the option of making searches with other partner companies as well, but that is optional.

    Happy flying!
