  1. Whats your lowest price?

  2. Try the megabus.  very cheap

  3. if you are just going for the day you could get the train and just get a cheap ticket, you usually go at like 11 and come back at about 8, i did it last week and it cost me 21 pounds, i'd say that's rather cheap

  4. 10.27 from Sheffield  is cheapest next Tuesday 21quid

  5. From Sheffield it depends which service you use. Cheapest would be the London midland services.  Best thing to do is pop into your local station and ask the clerk, they have all the information on hand and can check pretty quickly for the time and day you want to travel there and back, they should know all the routes and restrictions and get you the best deal, make sure you go in as quickly as possible, preferably up to 6 weeks in advance for the best ticket price.

Good Luck, its a lot better than trying to find it on your PC or asking a voice on the telephone.

  6. speak  to a travel agent, they will do a search and get you the cheapest deal.

  7. If you book far enough in advance you can normally get a reasonable priced ticket.

As you're going quite a long way reasonably priced could mean £40 (the normal price is much higher).

By quite far in advance I mean about 1 month.  If I remember correctly British Rail (or whatever it's called these days) is obliged to provide some low priced reserved tickets early in advance but, like all good capitalists, they don't advertise this fact.

Plan your trip in plenty of time and you may be surprised by the deals you get.
