Where can i get enviromental facts about paper production?

Question

for example how many trees are needed for X amount of paper or how many sq. Km of forest are being cut for paper production or how much of the urban waste is paper, etc?

In the US, the best group would be TAPPI (Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry) at

http://www.tappi.org

In England, the group to talk to would be PIRA (Paper Institute Research Asc.) at http://www.pira.co.uk/

Both of these groups are supported by the paper industry (as I am), but I honestly have never detected a bias in their reports or numbers.
