Where can i get free, LEGAL music for my iPod?

Question

I need to get music for my ipod, but i want it to be free too, lol. i DO NOT want to use limewire, either. Even if there is a website where i can get music with like a membership..that would help. i would have no problem having a 10 dollar a month membership fee, either..so any good websites links would help =)

Hey,

Using illegal software to download music e.g. lime wire could cause a virus on your computer, which I think is not worth the risk - even if the music is free.

I suggest going to www.youtube.com typing in the track, and artist's name along with download e.g rock star nickelback download. Often along with posting a song on youtube people will attack a download link (go to the right hand side of the page and click 'more info' if it does not show straight away).

This means that people have shared the download link for music that they have already paid for, creating a safe way to gain music for free.

After clicking the download link it will ask you to 'open', or 'save' the file, click 'save'. When the download is complete click open in the box that appears, the song will then appear in your iTunes music library.

If this does not work, and it opens in Windows Media Player instead, to go the place you saved the music file, right click on it and click 'open with' and then 'iTunes', the track will then appear in your iTunes music library.

I hope that this helps you - I have used this method many times.

hey mate, if you have no problem to pay $10 to some membership fee, why don't you just pay a little more money to have a software that can convert all your music to iPod supported format.

I always use cucusoft iPod video/music converter. It is really nice.

limewire is not legal!!! durr ha ha stupid answer.

mp3rocket is just like limewire but it does something that makes legal idk thats what a friend told me. I'm with you for trying to find one but idk if it exists

Don't bet stupid. You cannot get legal free music.

Here is a choice though, you could subscribe to a all you can eat music subscription service. For example, Napster or Zune. You don't exactly get to keep the music, but you will be able to play it on a limited number of computers and devices. But if you stop paying for the service, you will no longer get to keep the music.

The subscription services go for about 15$ a month.

You could also try emusic if your into inde artists.
