Unfortnatly in italy is impossible to get free wifi, becouse by low you cannot access the internet without be registerd somewhere. Then palce like mcdonald's that they use to provide in the rest. area free wifi they had to stop the service.

they only way is go walk around in the center of Rome and look for hot spots... there are few some people leave the connection open without password. (near piazza di spagna there use to be a couple hot spots near american express)

There's a laundromat near the termini that has free wifi if you do a load of laundry.
