  1. depending on where you live, private practices (offices owned and operated by optometrists) usually have pretty decent prices.

You can also try places like Costco, Target, or Sears.

I find that the big, specialty, chain stores, like Lenscrafters, are very expensive and they'll try to sell you products that you don't need or that don't fit your lifestyle.  i think that they're more about the sale than your well being, but that's just my opinion!

  2. whatever you do dont shop from Zenni Optical online if you have severe astigmatism - they wont allow you to use plastic/acetate frames, only metal frames if you have a certain cylinder

  3. Executive Optical

  4. i saw glasses at the 99 cent store once XD

  5. I always see commercials for America's Best. You can check out their website (link on bottom). They are currently doing 2 pairs and an exam for $69.95, including designer labels. Just type in your area code in the website to find locations close to you. If you do feather weight (thin lenses), it costs extra. Since you just found out you need to get eyeglasses, your vision probably isn't as bad as mine and don't need to do the feather weight option.

  6. Ike's -if you got an ike's where you stay.

  7. where do you live?

  8. Wal-mart.
