  1. Where do you live? There are places all over the U.S,but I am sure you don't want to drive 3+ hours to a barn.

  2. GUESS WHAT!? I TAUGHT MYSELF TO RIDE! AND NOW IM A PROFESSIONAL BARREL RACER! AND THE FUNNY THING IS IS THAT I LEARNED TO RIDE ON AN UN-BROKE MUSTANG! I KNOW YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT BUT THATS THE WAY I WAS RAISED AND THATS THE WAY I WAS GONNA DO IT! BUT I'M SURE YOU WOULD RATHER GET REAL LESSONS, AND GOOD LUCK ON THAT, TRY LOOKING IN THE LOCAL PAPER AND ON HORSE WEBSITES OR MAYBE AT THE FEED-STORES

  3. If you want inexpensive or free horseback riding lessons, I would suggest that you visit several riding barns in your area and see if the owner needs help mucking stalls or cleaning tack that she/he would give you riding lessons in exchange for your services.  Our daughter did this for YEARS and has become a VERY accomplished rider, to the point of now being asked to train and exercise some of the younger horses.  You will need to get your parents involved, because many young people are taken advantage of in this industry.
