  1. or do some checking with http://www.insurance-go.blogspot.com  <== various readings, be sure to see all!

  2. Mechanical or electrical failure will be covered under the warranty.

Accidental damage or theft you can cover under your Household Contents policy.

  3. Absolutely LI GUY

  4. The above answers about theft, damage etc being covered by household contents insurance is absolutely correct.

HOWEVER Li Guy is totally incorrect about extended warranty cover only being easily available at point of sale. You can purchase extended warranty cover many years after the item was purchased if you so wish.

Personally I don't consider extended warranty insurance to be worth it, but if you do the links below are for companies who will give you extended warranty insurance on  LCD TVs up to 5 years old.

I don't make any recommendation about any of the companies, these are merely examples that what I've said is correct.

  5. Im in the Insurance / Warranty business and it will be hard for you to find an insurance product since you have already bought it. In all the cases I am familiar with, these Service Contracts / Insurance products are only offered at the point of sale.

I also want to point out that theft of a TV is usually covered under a home owners policy or renters insurance policy.
