Call your local humane society. Sometimes they have special clinics where pets can be vaccinated and spayed or neutered at a low cost.

The best way to find out is to call vets in the area and ask for their prices.  I used to live in Luton (I live in Cyprus now) and used David Norman's vet clinic.  I don't know what his prices are like compared to others, but he's great with cats and has a very kind, compassionate attitude towards them.
