  1. A lot of people are saying the same answer that i am saying. As you live in San Jose, i am sure that there are many public pools in San Jose. Based on where i live, there are levals 1-12  than some lifeguard levals. From 1-12 you learn how to swim and in lifeguard levals you learn how to preform CPR.

At your local pool, ask for a private lesson at the front desk on whichever leval you wish yo go to.

If you want a private lesson for each leval, than it will cost a lot of money. I dont really think this will help you two much, as i dont live in San jose so i am not sure how it works there (Go SAN JOSE SHARKS!!)

  2. Local public pool.

Or follow the ads in the paper. Sometimes they offer them at their homes, and sometimes it is a scam to get your jammies off.

Anything one-on-one is going to be expensive. Join a small class at the y or health club.

  3. Call your local pool and ask.  We charge $20 per half hour lesson.  If you can find a lifeguard or swimming instructor who will do it privatly during open swim or at a local lake or somewhere, it will probably be cheaper because you can pay him or her $10 an hour or so and you won't be paying a price to the pool as well.  Or find a friend who will do it for free/really cheap.

  4. go to a local pool and ask.
