My local Sanrio closed down PLEASE help me. Where do I go for all my kawaii needs? I really don't want to shop online, please tell me anything you know in Maryland, DC, and Virginia. Surely there is a hidden gem somewhere I can go to!

  1. I am sure you can get it at Ginza, near Dupont Circle in DC.  They have *everything* Japanese there.  If you haven't been there, it is really a remarkable store.

    Ginza, Inc.

    721 Connecticut Ave. NW

    Washington, D.C. 20009

    Phone: 202-332-7000

    E-mail: ginzainc@verizon.net

    http://www.ginzaonline.com/

    I hope this is helpful.

  2. I don't know if the Sanrio store you are talking about is the one I know, but when I was like 6, there was a Sanrio store in Rockville, Maryland.

  3. Additionally, the Smithsonian's Freer & Sackler Galleries lower-level gift shop carries some kawaii notecards, stationary and stickers.

There was a Sanrio outlet at Potomac Mills ... but haven't been there in quite a while; don't know if it still exists. I'd get my Badtz Maru items there. *grin*
