I recently unearthed some old time pedals made in the 80's. Rats had eaten the shoes. do they still make shoes that don't need adapter plates?

  1. That's a cool find, I have a pair in a drawer some where, white ones, with that little floating plastic thing.

From what I can remember it's an 'L' shaped front cleat and solid brass rear cleat, and the only shoe that did not require the adapter plate were Time shoes.

You could see if the current Time models are backward compatible with them, but my guess is they are not,

Any 'Look' compatible (3-hole)  shoe should work, but like you said, would require the adapter plate.  Finding those old adapter plates might be like going on a treasure hunt.

    Good luck.
