  1. That's a lot of questions you've just asked - makes me wonder whether you really want snake soup, Mr Wang.

    If you do:

    1. Get snake.

    2. Chop snake with knife.

    3. Boil water in pot.

    4. Put snake bits in boiling water.

    5. Add carrots.

    6. Simmer.

  2. Get a saucepan of water. Get and kill a snake (non-poisonous). Once you have cut up the snake and placed it in the water. You need boil the water and you will have a snake soup. You can add other sauces if you want to add to the flavour.

  3. ....no recipe exists in Chines that can be written using pinying, of course...so you will really be better off cooking snake at home by yourself

...the magical after-effects of eating 'Chinese" snakes may cause you to jump higher and fly from rooftop to rooftop- the following recipes should be prepared with utmost care so you don't hurt yourself

....however, in China you are very fortunate to have 2 manners by which you might successfully emasculate the delicious and legendarily magical efulgence of the 'snake'

....one way is to drop 8 to 12 live snakes into a large pot of simmering water which has been seasoned with a little salt and tumerick

.....in a few moments the snakes will cease their cathartic dance and settle into the mesmirizing steam risng up from witihn the cauldron of old

....soon you can use the magic ladle to extrapolate the lovely magical serpents from the cauldron on to your bowl of rice

....use your chopsticks and remove meat from the bones and suck it down loudly!...the louder the more magic will come for you......son after 5 snakes are eaten, you will be able to fly (just like in the movies)

a second manner of preparing Chinese snakes for 'eating' purposes is the slice the live snake from head to tail along top and bottom of the inner bones

....you must use a very old and very small little knife to do this effectively

....also, try to find a wooden surface that has been used for rendering such meats for many many years, the surface will not be slippery, but more importantly, the flavor that the ages of previous meat rendering has left on the meat will also soak into your delicious snakes too

....once rendered from the bones you are ready to drop the snakes meat into a bowl of hot water

..the bowl of water should contain a little salt, several drops of chicken grease, and a fertilzed pigeon's egg

....cover the bowl and let the meat stew in the hot bowl of liquid for about 10 minutes

....then the nice soup is ready for your chop sticks

....enjoy the magical feeling you will receive from this

    Hope you enjoy

  4. Sigh........

To be honest I not seen a palace in Beijing that offers snake.

I thought snake soup was of Hong Kong cuisine and not P.R. China.

Specially as Hong Kong has a big snake industry going on....

Your best bet would be a Cantonese style restaurant as covers the Hong Kong region.

  5. You can almost walk in any higher end restaurants for a snake soup. They're not very hard to find. They're really good. I only had it twice in my whole life but I will definitely have it again next time I visit China.
