Triops Australiensis originate from Australia, also known as Shield shrimp.  They are also marketed as Billabong Bugs.  See this website for an email link about buying them:

'Billabong Bugs' are sold in a similar way as 'sea monkeys' because of their ability to hatch after being dried up.

Oh c**p.. I was typing that into google this afternoon..

What a spin out lol .. I will keep an eye on this question.. I want triops too.. But i dont want to buy them online..

If you're into that whole online thing, then its in google.. Billabong bugs..

But yeah, I'm going on a search tomorrow.. And I'll probably be back if I find some to let you know.. If you're in Sydney, then it would be easier for you to get them if I do find them lol.

I highly doubt they're sold in stores.. but sea monkeys are, but they are c**p.
