I am making cards and want words to put in them but for free,

Lots of words and verses including humorous ones. There are a lot in some categories as people add new ones but you can also search keywords to narrow it down.

This question has been asked frequently so if you use the search for questions box you will find more answers.

That area is called "Pea Soup". I don't believe you need to be a member to use it, but it's possible.

I did a search for "card" in that link, but you can search any subject or keyword. The site does more scrapbooking than cards but many quotes will work for both.

Also, you have a computer, get creative with fonts, ink colors, letter sizes, and think up words and sayings on your own and print them out.
