Tomorrow i want to go on a daytrip by train somewhere less than 2 hours away from London. I would like to go somewhere with fields where i can have a picnic and escape from London. Somewhere with a river would be nice.

  1. I live in Brighton and the countryside around here is really nice as well as Brighton itself of course.  I recommend Sussex as a county to visit for a nice relaxing time.  We have vineyards down here, you know!  Also, Oxford is very nice, going the other way.

  2. go to one of the places in the Lee Valley

Rye House is lovely - there's a nature reserve there managed by RSPB and lovely walks along the tow path ... you could walk along, have your picnic, and get the train back from St Margarets ... click on the Hoddesden area map on

the train runs out of Liverpool Street and goes through Tottenham Hale station which connects to the Victoria line
