Must be 20 years since I had a good steak out in London (we live in the Midlands) but if anyone is ever near Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, there is a village called Yoxall twixt Burton and Lichfield.

The Restaurant called "Foresters at Yoxall" does the best steak I've ever had outside of Sydney.

Gatwick airport, buy a ticket to Argentina or Brazil.  I would never eat British beef.  Mad Cow disease.

Have had the most beautiful steak, with real home cut and cooked thick chips...nice place as well, with good beers and a young management....I love it and travel over 300 miles to go there at least three times a year.

The Gaucho Grill does amazing steak and they bring a tray out before you order to explain the differences of each cut of meat.

The Butcher & Grill in Battersea.  Absolutely wonderful - can't recommend it highly enough.  I've always had the most amazing steaks here.  Probably helps that it's a butcher's shop with a restaurant attached, and best of all, it's British!
