  1. You have got the coast Brighton/Bournemouth about a hours train ride from you. There is also the likes of Windsor which is not that far but full of history and nice walks and pub meals along the Thames,to get there go to Paddington and train to Slough and then train to Windsor.You also have Oxford just up the road (Shakespeare).Henley on Thames is also really nice.Hey knock yourself out and enjoy the UK.Happy hunting

  2. Bournemouth is a cleaner, nicer coastal town than Brighton with a busy night life.  Bath is a good Roman city with a lot of young people, Roman spa (Longleat is not far from there either).  Oxford has some history/buildings museums etc.

  3. There are loads and loads of towns, coastal resorts, areas where you can go outside of London, it all depends what you want and where you want to go.  Remember that most costal resorts still get quite booked up early in the summer as well as the more favourite destinations around the UK, however some places possibly to try would be;

    For the coast: Great Yarmouth, Hastings, The Cinque Ports, Margate, Littlehampton, Selsey, Weymouth, The Jurrasic Coast (all within a couple of hours by train or car from London)

    For City breaks: Bath, Oxford, Cambridge, Manchester, Nottingham, Norwich, Worcester, Edinbourgh.

    For County break, any of the counties around London have lovely small towns and beautiful countryside which is extremly varied and diverse, but the Fens and Broads of Cambridge, Norfolk, Suffolk and Lincoln are beautiful in the summer, great for quiet romance.

    Good Luck.

  4. New Forest, about an hour down the M3

  5. Depends how far you want to go.....Oxford, Cambridge are nice or you can go to some very picturesque villages in the Cotswolds...or even jump on a train and travel up to York which has wonderful historic buildings, the National Railway Museum and great night life and the River Ouse for boat trips etc...a great place for a weekend.

  6. Brighton, for the seaside

    Oxford or Cambridge for beautiful historic university towns

  7. Thorpe Park. This is a theme park just outside London. Great fun day out. You could combine that with visiting Windsor, and Windsor Castle which isn't far from Thorpe Park. The castle or part of it is open to visitors,and has some amazing displays inside, not to mention amazing opulent decor of the rooms.

  8. eurostar Paris , Lille , Oxford , Devon Cornwall , Holland from Liverpool st. station via Harwich .

  9. Reading has a long street of shops and two shopping centres, a cinema, restaurants and bars in its town centre. It also has a park called Forbury Gardens which is nice. Everything is nearby and easy to find and you can get there straight from London by train, coach or car.

  10. either east sussex  cambridge or suffolk

  11. Reading is a great place.
